About Birdy Creative
Ashley Haas Youngswick is the Founder of Birdy Creative, her brainchild, born outside Denver, Colorado in 2020.
Ashley grew up in an artistic family and inherited her knack for design from her mother and grandfather. As a child, Ashley watched her mother style everything from fashion shows, interiors, and photoshoots to jewelry and even her children. Ashley’s maternal grandfather was an architect, whose mid-century modern buildings stood in stark contrast to the classic watercolors he painted of the French countryside while traveling through Europe on his bicycle in the late 1930s. Inspired by her mother and grandfather, Ashley knew from a young age she’d be an artist.
After graduating from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in San Francisco, California, Ashley began her career creating floral displays for individuals, restaurants, and large-scale events in the Bay Area. Ashley ultimately expanded her preferred medium to include all aspects of event décor and design. For the past 20 years, special events in San Francisco, Denver, and throughout the United States have featured Ashley’s award-winning creative visions.
Ashley’s niche is creating visually stunning, immersive experiences with food, flowers, textiles, furniture and lighting for everything from homes, offices and special events to photoshoots, television and film.
Ashley lives in Denver, Colorado, with her partner, Derek, and their four fur babies, Sava, Opal, Penny and Vee. In her spare time, Ashley enjoys creating delicious meals using ingredients from her garden, channeling her favorite artists using canvas and paint, riding her moped, vintage and thrift shopping and spoiling her teenage niece and twin nephews.
Why is it called Birdy?
This was my dad, Freddy who the world lost in 2017. And here he is with the cat he swore he hated, but actually loved more than anything. So, without further adieu may I introduce you all to, Birdy! I named my company after her as a tribute to my dad and his love for her. Here’s to the world’s best Dad and cat!
